Timecrest Wins Best iOS Game and Developer of the Year in the AppleVis Golden Apples of 2016
SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA – January 4, 2017 – Sneaky Crab is pleased to announce that its critically acclaimed game, Timecrest: The Door, has been chosen by the AppleVis community as the winner of Best iOS Game, and Sneaky Crab was the joint winner of Developer of the Year, in the AppleVis Golden Apple Awards of 2016. AppleVis Golden Apple Awards are awarded by community votes in recognition of excellence in accessibility for iOS apps and developers.
“We're delighted, honored, and humbled to have won Best iOS Game and Developer of the Year in the AppleVis Golden Apples of 2016,” said Justin Ng, Sneaky Crab CEO. “We thank the incredible blind community for their support and their acceptance of Timecrest into their lives. We’re looking forward to a very accessible 2017.”
In Timecrest, where epic fantasy meets interactive fiction, author Lisa J. Skye introduces you to Ash Elden, where together you both must scramble to solve the puzzle of who unfroze the meteors to destroy Ash’s world of Alyncia. You discover that you have access to a forbidden magic–the ability to turn back time.
Every choice you make matters, and will change the outcome of this massive 225,000-word interactive story, leading to one of multiple endings. Immerse yourself within the emotional soundtrack and explore the non-linear maps.
AppleVis reported: “The team behind Timecrest has developed a close and positive relationship with the AppleVis community since being asked to improve the accessibility of the game. Not only has this resulted in the game being made fully accessible, but Sneaky Crab has also made improvements to specifically enhance the gameplay experience for blind gamers.”
Jamie Pauls, writing for American Foundation for the Blind’s AccessWorld Magazine, wrote: “In my years of playing various interactive fiction games, I have seldom found myself more drawn into a story than I have when playing Timecrest. The riveting plot and rich character development make this game come alive for me.”
